Hopefully this doesn’t affect Homeworld 3.
A 40-year-old Atari 2600 game is being reimagined as a roguelite.
Activision, no matter how they end up, should just make a console that does nothing but play Call of Duty. They should then make that console the exclusive and only way to play Call of Duty. Playstation and XBox immediately die.
I mean… Steam was just the Counter Strike launcher and updater. Everything else came as an add-on.
Anyone played Dave the Diver?
(The forum software wouldn’t provide a thumbnail for the below article, so I had to force it.)
A bunch of other video game themes were played at this parade.
Just finished Act 2 of Baldurs Gate 3. So far, easily game of the year for me personally. They are patching it as quick as they can to fix quest bugs and improve performance but even playing launch build/Patch1 build I’ve been really impressed with the interconnectedness and depth of the writing, the amazing performances (all voice actors did live mocap and face capture so it is a total performance when you are speaking) as well as the 5e combat and gameplay.
All of their tweaks to 5e make it more fun/better from the player perspective.I really like that there are a few actions like shoving, dipping a weapon in an environment effect etc. that got made into bonus actions to open up the action economy more. The game does a really great job of always having a dialog line for you or a reaction from someone you are talking to that reacts to your PC and your actions through the game’s tagging (keywords for all PCs) and flagging system (really nitty gritty on actions and objects and quest outcomes). I’ve really felt like my PC was seen specifically in a lot of interactions down to subclass and subrace choices. The game gives out a lot of utility items (rings and necklaces) that give nice minor buffs that help with different play-styles or give some free daily spells tied to the item to broaden each PC’s abilities.
I cannot recommend the game enough and I can’t wait to finish it (probably going to be another 20-40 hours on act 3) and start all over again as a different character.
What does this mean? This doesn’t sound like something I want.
Just that a ring or a neck item instead of giving you a passive buff will just give you a once a day cast of a specific spell (many items give you a +1 to s a skill or a small bonus to a damage type or other interaction normally).
An amulet of healing letting any character wearing it cast healing word, once per long rest, not using your spell slots or skills, but functioning like a spell scroll. Like spell scrolls it can give you more flexibility in who you choose in your party makeup, but it will never in anyway replace the actual class abilities or full depth in spell casting of cleric or wizard.
