Part time job get: computer person at a library!
I’ve actually been thinking about this topic recently. One thing I immediately thought of is the fact that a lot of japanese television (e.g. variety shows, or where I most often ecounter them: pre-recorded wrestling promos) is shown with subtitles on-screen. I believe that it is for two reasons: One those don’t necessarily have the best recording environments or the benefit of multiple takes (i.e. why you don’t see them in for example anime or dramas), and secondly japanese has a lot of homophones so having the characters on screen alleviates ambiguity. Of course, it is also good for people who are hard of hearing.
Hmm, what would the species named after Rym or Scott be?
S. Ficetosayus, I think.
You have GOT to see Snapchat’s new commercial. Who thought this was a good idea?
This may be old news, but I happened across someone mention it in a podcast and I kinda want one now. It’s not practical at all, just a neat little gizmo.
Teenage engineering designed the playdate too.
See, I knew they had a line of Pocket Operator games, but didn’t know that they did design work on the Playdate. Altho now that I think about it, the hardware design screams Teenage from the little I know of them!
