Speedruns to Watch

Apparently some years ago TMR beat Every NES Game. 714 titles across 3 years and 3400+ hours of game time.

Including 90 hours for Miracle Piano Teaching System:

One of the most iconic speedruns to ever pull off is the 16-star run of Super Mario 64. What’s even more amazing than just pulling off this run at all is watching how it evolved over the years.

The first time it happened, while impressive for its day, was pretty slow and crude. Then it became refined as players learned new tricks and glitches, making each run look cooler than the last. This video is a history showing how the run changed over 17 years.

Speedrunning histories like Summoning Salt are so good. The best part of his channel is when certain songs kick in and you KNOW shit is going down.

Something a bit different: A game that almost no one plays.

TL;DW: Horrendous RNG and a 14 minute unskippable waiting part that might as well be a custscene.

Super Mario 64, 120 star, blindfolded.
That’s one talented cat.

New Mario 1 world record, also by Niftski.

.3 better than the previous, .35 off the TAS.
.16 better than the “theory limit” discussed last time around:

The game that took me hours upon hours to beat as a child. People beat it regularly in < 5 minutes.

According to the runner, it’s even with the TAS going into 8-4, and there are no more framerules to save. Just individual frames on the last level. Absolutely bonkers.

This is the most fun speedrun I’ve seen in a long time. The glitch they discovered is truly preopsterous.
