I think it helps that the differences between characters is very stark, while also being relatively minimal - they all have very defined abilities(An active, a passive, and an ult) and very little overlap. Like, this guy is the decoy guy, and he does decoys. This woman is the heals woman, she does a bad Jamaican accent, that’s it. This guy is the gas trap guy, he does gas traps. This is the tracker person, they track people. There’s no movement difference, there’s no ability overlap(yet, but I don’t think they’ll add any for a while), there’s no real health difference, everybody gets the same selection of guns.

Something about the movement though, everyone has climbing abilities similar to Hanzo in Overwatch. Also sliding long distances is a thing.

Yep! Every character can mantle roughly a body length above their max jump height, and they’ve retained the relatively long slides(from a sprint) and infinite slides(on slopes) from Titanfall.

I’m the opposite. I have fun playing Apex until we get into a real shooting situation because I lack the raw twitch shooter skills. I went back to Overwatch after playing Apex and I felt so much more comfortable because I can shield tank or heal and not really have to worry about shooting fast moving targets as much.
