That was a good Rick and Morty. High-concept sci-fi rigamarole.
This season has been great so far! Last season was good too, after trending downward for a couple of seasons, imo. From the beginning I was worried that they wouldn’t be able to keep doing what they’re doing – genuinely interesting takes on interesting sci-fi ideas without repeating themselves – and seasons 2 and 3 felt like they were starting to confirm my fears (3 especially seemed to eschew interesting concepts in favor of gratuitous violence), but they’ve pulled it out. Really stoked for the rest of the season.
They’ve made a few shorts in the past couple of years, but now it’s getting a full-on anime series.
I’m honestly legit excited about this. Those shorts were fantastic!

Season 6 premieres September 4.
