Now That Donald Trump Has Lost

Just in time for the Republicans to take control of the House and not do anything with them.

Trump’s game of trying to delay and run out the clock seems to have worked.

Of course now that the Senate has 51 votes they can have that stuff transferred to them and start the committee up with subpoena power (which is why it was in the House)

Senate is back to 50 because Kyrsten Sinema is exactly the traitorous piece of shit we’ve been saying she is.

Sinema’s move away from the Democratic Party is unlikely to change the power balance in the next Senate. Democrats will have a narrow 51-49 majority that includes two independents who caucus with them: Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Angus King of Maine.

While Sanders and King formally caucus with Democrats, Sinema declined to explicitly say that she would do the same

It’s an evil move, but at least it’s an honest move.

I didn’t know it was allowed to leave your party while in office and registering with another. Seems like that shouldn’t be legal.

It has happened many times before, affecting both Democrats & Republicans, in the House & Senate.

*Edit: scanning the list quickly, it does seem like more often the move is towards the Republican party.

Wow thing I learned today.

It also makes it easier for her to run for re-election because by running as an independent, she doesn’t have to have a Democratic primary, which she would probably lose.

Even still it seems like a really shitty move to make especially to the people that voted for her.

That’s exactly the point.

It’s a power grab move that’s clearly aimed at trying to preserve her senate seat at the expense of the people who voted for her previously.

Joe Lieberman did something similar, except that Lieberman actually lost his Democratic primary, switched to an Independent, and successfully got re-elected to the Senate.
