Austrian actor Karl Merkatz has passed away.
Very unlikely to be known outside german speaking regions, however he is a pretty big deal here for his portrayal of âMundlâ in the Series âEin Echter Wiener Geht Nicht Unterâ which has become a cult classic. However, I prefer him for his role of âKarl Bockererâ in the movie series Der Bockerer, which is about a common persons view during the Anschluss as well as other major events in post-war europe in the sequels.
Hadnât she gone super Republican and Trumpy in her last years and claiming unfair discrimination as a result of her political views? What a way to go out.
