Important note about that Glynn County referendum was that it wasn’t to abolish the police but rather move the County Police resources to be part of the Sheriff Department.

I’m kinda saddened that once I read the headline and how it happened, everything else felt kinda milquetoast. The platform of a transgender satanist anarchist running for sherrif on the GOP should be far crazier than when a former Sports Illustrated columnist ran for Sherriff of Aspen.

Old Fuck the Police, but I didn’t feel like resurrecting the History Thread. The Dollop did a two parter on Abbie Hoffman of the Chicago 8. Part 1 is good, but somehow better than the wild theater of the DNC '68 riots is the Show Trial, where Nixon’s DoJ tried to rig everything against the defendants but didn’t get what they did. Judge Julius was not ready for the goofy absurdist political theater those guys were experts in, and the one black defendant Bobby Seale getting forced into a separate but equal trial was… a decision.
And yeah it’s a Fuck the Police moment because the Johnson DoJ declared the DNC '68 riots a police riot, where cops were the aggressors and therefor the protestors would not be tried, but Nixon had other plans.
So I took the long form drug and alcohol survey today. I figured it might be real science and they were paying 30 bucks. Turns out to be at least partially garbage push polling. There was literally no option to approve of trying pot!
I remember when we took a test like that in middle school.
Everyone trolled it and anonymously admitted to trying, or regularly using, hard drugs. The school had a mini crisis around it.
