Because it’s edgy, edgy gets views!
This sounds interesting:
Made by Peele (of Key &), featuring Michael K Williams (aka Omar). Sounds like it’s about racism and The Old Ones.
This is good because Lovecraft was very very racist.
Dark rules, I am glad other people are watching it.
I still don’t believe this will actually happen, but I’d rather it be on Netflix than pretty much anywhere else except possibly HBO.
But yeah, until I am literally watching this on my TV, I am skeptical…
Thanks for that recommendation! I’m most of the way through Season 2 of Black Sails now, and so far it’s quite a compelling show indeed.
I can’t even begin to wrap my head around how you would pace this out. DC is involved so they could theoretically include the cameos that show up in the series. Doll’s House, Season of Mists, A Game of You, Brief Lives, Kindly Ones + The Wake could all be their own seasons, but they each have such disparate aesthetics it would be like making an entirely new show each time.
I mean, according to PornHub’s 2018 data, “stepmom” was the 4th most searched-for term, right after “milf.” “Mom” was 6th.
I’m just sayin, seems like a lot of dudes out there want to fuck their moms.
Not a show that is currently “in” but I found Netflix’s Series of Unfortunate Events to be phenomenal.
Phenomenal is a word that means exceptionally good.
Every time this comes up on reddit someone shows up with some explanation about how “it’s something something about taboo and the only way to make this fantasy of something something actual attraction overcoming something something look it’s not weird.”
It’s weird.
I’m pretty disappointed with the last two eps of Handmaid’s Tale and the Candy ep of Pose.
spoiler
Are we still killing of black women in 2019 so white/light women or cis men can get some redemption arc, as they sit over her body and give her some one-sided “respect” they owed her in life, when she is definitively unable to speak for herself?
UGH
Catching up on Archer and I’m only now realizing that Pam is my optimal body type.
I just finished the Netflix “Original”, Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya.
I wasn’t impressed. My girlfriend who is more familiar with the franchise says that it moved a lot faster than the original series, covering lots of ground in six episodes, which is good -I hate the pacing of shonen anime. Lots of characters had changed names, an annoying throwback to the old days of localization, you can’t get a Japanese language dub, but apparently there is one (perhaps only in Japan?) but it was a very fast introduction to the Saint Seiya mythos, and I now know I don’t need to see the proper version.
FINALLY!
No more prequels. No more alternate dimensions. No more reboots. Just a continuation of Star Trek. Consider me tentatively hyped:
I gotta say the tone, editing, and some of what was portrayed in the trailer has me extremely skeptical at this point. Seems much more like the TNG movies or Discovery rather than TNG style show. People were shooting at someone running, there was some martial arts fighting. Someone had someone on the floor with a gun to their head and that person yelled “SHES THE END OF THE GALAXY” or something along those lines.
The tone definitely skews more towards Deep Space Nine than The Next Generation. To be honest, I’m totally ok with that.
My SDCC hype trailer was finally getting to see the Witcher trailer. Some people are complaining about the plate armor being cast pieces and not real armor, which I’m totally willing and able to overlook with the high level of detail on the costuming in general.
I didn’t get that feel, I love DS9 and its my favorite trek series adn would love it to be a dark political thriller, but just gotta wait for more at this point. The last thing I want is elderly patrick stewart reacting to action around him constantly. 7 of 9 cameo was also a net negative for me.
Ditto for me. I was never a big fan of Voyager in general, and 7 of 9 seemed like double-pandering to me… T&A as well as gratuitous Borg presence.
That being said, I’m still relatively excited about this show because it actually continues the Star Trek timeline. I am worried, like you, that we might have an elderly Patrick Stewart standing around while everyone happens around him, but hopefully that won’t happen. Additionally, I fully expect Picard to nobly sacrifice himself in the season one or two finale.
