Duck taping someone to a chair must be SUPER dangerous in the case of an emergency, and can’t be the way to restrain someone. Just imagine trying to untape the guy if there is a crash landing or the plane is on fire somehow. And what about the people in the seats next to him? Can they get out quickly around the duck taped passenger?
My understanding is he was groping the staff and when they started preventing that he got violent, as in punching the people stopping him from groping. That is when the duct tape happened.
A passenger aboard a Frontier Airlines flight has been charged with three counts of battery. The passenger is accused of inappropriately touching two female flight attendants and punching a male attendant on Saturday. The flight crew then restrained the unruly passenger and used tape to ensure he stayed seated for the remainder of the flight.
Frontier initially said the crew was suspended because the passenger wasn’t restrained using the proper procedures…
The airline has now told multiple news outlets that the crew is on paid leave pending an investigation.
Okay so my initial reaction wasn’t far off. I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking this needs more consideration.
And from this angle, that doesn’t look like duck tape at all. No idea what tape it is, but maybe something easier to remove quickly.
A flight attendant for Frontier revealed to TPG that restraint (duct) tape is usually the only equipment loaded onto Frontier flights and should only be used as a last resort. Their training is to apply a safety demonstration oxygen mask over the mouth if required to try and subdue the passenger. Having viewed the viral video, this flight attendant believes the application of duct tape was appropriate in the situation as an urgent reaction to the passenger violently spitting and biting the crew during the flight.

The airline this flight attendant currently flies for stocks onboard restraint kits for these situations which include handcuffs and long wide straps, but not the cable ties or duct tape you might have seen used by other airlines.
Their training instructs that a passenger’s mouth and throat should not be covered, even if the passenger is being verbally abusive.
Actually I have notification counts on for Messages and Messenger, as I sometimes have ongoing conversations in those apps.
But here is no email in the world that is important enough for me to have to see numbers for all the other emails that might be waiting in my inbox too. And nothing ever happens on Twitter or Instagram for notifications to even be turned on, let alone showing me the current count.
You’re using Gmail, which means you have access to the priority inbox feature. This has the ability to segregate important emails from other ones. You will then only be notified of important emails and the other ones just sit in the inbox.
Also, inbox zero. There is currently exactly one email in my inbox, and it is read. I get so few emails, and I handle them all as they come in. There simply aren’t any other emails that might be waiting in my inbox.
Same here. The only email in my inbox is a booking confirmation for a camp site we’ll be staying at this evening, so I want the address and booking number handy.
Inbox zero is all the more reason you never need to see any red numbers.
