Hey, Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson. Took me a while to place him.

Mind blown by a 3D printer printing parts, but also print tools, and then once the printing has finished, using the tools to assemble the parts.
That’s some great use of a few basic tools to get some very complex results. I wonder what is used to program the working moves vs regular slicing, and what kind of CAM/slicer/g-code generating program is needed for those results. Unless they programmed the assembly moves by hand??? Also, quite a nice 3D printer design as well to allow such things. Not every printer is up to such tasks to get the head down in and print while other stuff is on the bed.
In either case, making automation more accessible is going to be huge.
It’s like a compiler compiling itself.
I debated posting this in the Netrunner thread since that is what it is about, but it is so much more and well told that it deserves more attention that that:
OMG. I guess this must have come out in the early 2000s after I stopped watching TV? I’ve never seen it before, but it’s incredible. How has this not been meme-remixed a billion times already?
Here is some similar content from the other side of the world:
It may not look like it until the end, but it’s an Intel ad.
This thread.
According to the comments of that video it was 2001. Damn catchy and I think their best ad they did.
Maybe you all have seen this but I just came across it.
Extremely high-production-value commercial for… bottled water?
“Oh I could really go for some Pocari Sweat right now”
