This feels a lot like a scam. There have been a lot of massive construction/terraforming projects in that region that ended up petering out over the decades.

Today I learned that Bennett Foddy of Getting Over It With fame is also the QWOP guy.
Maybe we should call games with absurd contrived movement mechanics Foddlikes.
Fun facts - He’s also a Doctor of Moral Philosophy(And used to be a postdoctoral researcher), used to be the bass player for the synth-pop band Cut Copy, was the deputy director of Oxford University’s Institute for Science and Ethics, a Lecturer on game design at NYU, and his wife is a Milliner.
