Oh yeah, I used to work/volunteer for a competition like that for apprentices, called Worldskills.
Running a mile, dribbling a basketball. I’m used to seeing basketball-player sized humans holding a basketball, the runners look so shrimpy holding one!
Other weird miles:
Beer mile. Drink 4 beers while running 4 laps. World record: 4:28 (what)
Elimination mile: every lap, the person in last is kicked out. The runners are so gassed by the last lap from 3 ~flat-out sprints already.
