I followed it until they got to the guy with the box head and the end of episode one left me more confused than I have been by the first episode of any other Ikuhara show. I think it’s gonna be weirder than Yuri Kuma but less weird than Penguindrum.

Ikuhara also mentioned with a laugh that he was surprised that nobody in the staff stopped him. "Even as I was telling people, 'This is how we're doing this,' I was thinking, 'Okay, somebody is definitely going to call me out on this.' But nobody did."
More surprising is that Ikuhara had a useful answer to a question.
