I’m watching Mary Poppins Returns… the last time I saw David Warner as a crazy old sailor, he hated children! I’m worried about the kids the whole time, and I’m waiting for Lin-Manuel Miranda to shove him into the hold!
Seriously, I think Warner’s a great character actor and improves everything he’s in. Making this cash-in more watchable even in a small role.
This (presumably)dead bonsai tree has been floating around my workplace for years. Started out in my bosses office, then bounced between different conference rooms as it slowly petrifies. Now it’s on the reception desk. I think it’s supposed to be classy.
I think my personal kryptonite has been writing about myself. I have been trying to get a personal essay done for something I want to do in over two weeks but have been finding it next to impossible to take pen to paper and boast about my past. Is this something normal or is it a just an odd quirk thing?
I live in a Conservative “safe seat” constituency so my vote means very little but at least I can use it to protest. There’s going to be a border change before the next election that puts me into a neighbouring Labour “safe seat” (unless the inclusion of my particular village changes that). Still it makes my vote feel pretty meaningless when the constituencies are safe seats by FPTP and I guess gerrymandering.
Every week or few there goes around another video of misbehaving/belligerent airline passengers. Usually they’re getting booted by the crew. And almost always alcohol and/or racism are involved.
For alcohol, though, we have breathalyzers. There is definitely a world in which we simply don’t allow intoxicated people on planes, regardless of demeanor. The only thing probably holding this up is capitalism since airports and airlines want to sell booze.
One of our Patreon levels is “You Pick The Topic”, and one of our top Patreon supporters asked for us to talk about some sciency-sounding health topics. It turned out to be a really fun discussion where I almost but not quite came out and said the whole thing was alternative medicine pseudoscience. This is far outside my wheelhouse, but I know just enough to think everything is dangerous.
