New Japan Pro Wrestling has made the first night of the 2017 Best of the Super Juniors Tournament. Think WWE’s Cruiserweight Classic but it’s a round robin format and the lineup is much better. This is Jushin Thunder Liger’s final BOSJ, so look for him to put on a big time performance, even if he doesn’t win it.

They’re setting up some wrestling thing in Times Square near my work, but that is literally all the info I have.

Io Shirai is coming to WWE, which is fantastic. Hopefully she raises the bar on the Women’s division rather than the women’s division lowering hers.

There is good wrestling in New York City constantly. If you want to get into things I can point you to some groups to watch.

You can not hinder Jinder

I’m so underwhelmed with how WWE handled Shinsuke Nakamura’s main roster debut.

However, I AM ALL ABOUT THE MAHARAJA. \o/

Only wish he won clean and didn’t do quite as much with the foreign heel stuff… but yeah… Overall I approve of the champion Maharaja!

Money in the bank this year will be Smackdown Branded, which is not that great. However this year the MITB ladder match will feature AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Baron Corbyn and Dolph Ziggler, and that line-up will be freaking amazing. It is also rumored that there will be a women’s MITB ladder match, which should also be good.

Just finished the episode, that match was excellent as expected, but how are you gonna take 6 months off and not give us any cut scenes or a story thus far man? That’s the best part of the show!
Johnny Mundo is the best scumbag character in wrestling right now and watching him pull every move out of the rudo playbook to hold on to his title is endlessly entertaining and infuriating.

Finally got around to watch NJPW Sakura Genesis 2017 from back in April. Holy crap, that match between Okada and Shibata.

It was amazing but due to that match Shibata might never wrestle again. It’s a huge bummer.

I just hope that other wrestlers are watching and learning from the mistakes of people like Shibata.

Woah, I had heard Shibata got injured during it, but I both kind of forgot about it since I took a break from NJPW for a bit, and I didn’t seem to realize that it was this bad. Hopefully he’ll get better soon and at the very least have a long life even it is is outside the ring. This sucks. Kind of a “pure white ash moment” :X

Edit: Just found this on twitter via wreddit:

My understanding is that he will be fine, bu my very basic understanding of the subdermal hematoma is that it’s the sort of thing that can reoccur and get worse if it keeps happening again, so he’s being benched, similar to Bryan Danielson.

Last thing I read is that he is almost blind in one eye and deaf in one ear :X

The moral of the story is in the world of pro wrestling WHY WOULD YOU EVER NEED TO ACTUALLY HEADBUTT THE DUDE JESUS CHRIST THERE IS SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO FAKE IT THIS IS SO UNNECESSARY!

Just watched NJPW Dominion 6.11 at Osaka Jo-Hall live. I guess if WrestleKingdom is the WrestleMania of Japan, then Dominion is its Summerslam. And what’s more is that this year the card was basically a carbon copy of the WK card with a gauntlet match for the 6-man tag belts, RPG Vice vs. The Young Bucks, KUSHIDA vs. Hiromu Takahashi, Naito vs. Tanahashi and Okada vs. Omega. The Biggest difference I guess is Goto fighting Suzuki, which was particularly strange because it was a Lumberjack match and stipulations are rather rare in NJPW.

I am not quite sure whether this one topped WrestleKingdom 11, but the sheer fact that it came close to it is a statement in and of itself. A lot of this of course hinged on the rematch between Okada and Omega, and they might have actually done it. Weirdly though I feel like that the match between KUSHIDA and Takahashi was the best of the night, maybe that is though because by the end Okada vs. Omega I was kind of exhausted. On the back of those two matches it could very well be the best show of the year. Unfortunately the rest was kind of worse than the WK11. It’s still good and the very least better than anything else I’ve seen this year though including Mania.

Best best wrestling game is back.

The GBA version was by far my favorite game in the console, to a disgusting degree.
