Wow, the guy who played Waymond in EEAAO was Short Round from Temple of Doom.

Video compression blows away film grain, so if you’ve got the right codecs, Netflix adds it back in client-side. LOL

A ton of Polish movies are now online to stream for free:
35mm.online - 35mm.online
In the years 2018-2021, the Polish Film Institute, the Documentary and Feature Film Studios and Studio Filmow Rysunkowych implemented a Project (number POPC.02.03.02-00-0007 / 17), named:
Digital restoration and digitization of Polish feature films, documentaries and animated films in order to ensure access in all fields of distribution (cinema, television, Internet, mobile devices) and to preserve Polish film heritage for future generations
160 feature films, 71 documentaries, 474 animated films, including 10 full-length animated films have been restored as part of the project
All film materials presented on the 35mm.online platform meet the requirements of WCAG 2.0 - they have audio descriptions, transcriptions, subtitles in Polish and English, as well as comprehensive descriptions. For foreigners, the entire film library of the Platform is available in English.
Anyone know some good Polish movies?
Oppenheimer teaser is up. They’re doing a fun live transmission that loops the trailer and updates the countdown on screen in real time.
- Lol what an attitude
- It’s not like Hollywood was good about representation in his era, maybe Orson could have stood to hire a few less friends
Illumination starts a new division to skew towards older audiences.
Zoom in on this poster. REALLY zoom in on it. Absorb all the detail and Mario references contained in this one image. It’s glorious.
My favorite part about this is what it has to be doing to all of those Snyderbros (at least, the ones who are not bots, obvs) who complained about Gunn and his “wokeness” or whatever it is that they’re angry about. Just that sweet, sweet ennui haha
The second Suicide Squad movie directed by Gunn was great, so I’m cautiously optimistic about this!
I’m sure him being a co- will mean that his more bizarre things will be tempered but I’m definitely excited to see what a studio partly helmed by Gunn will release!
Somehow I missed that Edgar Wright is remaking Running Man? Whatever it is, I’m on board:
I’m interested to see if it is a remake of the Running Man movie or, as the article stars out by saying, a second adaptation of the Running Man novel.
For example, everyone started calling the recent Dune movie a “Dune remake” but I assumed it would be a second/third adaptation… and in the end it seemed like a new adaptation which seemed to also acknowledge the previous movie in some ways, so I understand why it was called a remake rather than an adaptation.
I learned from the article it was based on a book, and Stephen King to boot.
I could see it going either way - Edgar Wright movies are certainly in conversation with other movies.
