Monday - The Discoverability Problem

Tonight on GeekNights, we muse a bit on the problem of discoverability. Nearly all experience is mediated, and this includes deciding what web site to look at. A big discussion I am having at work is what we are going to do to get metrics to have people go onto the new platform and view the materials we have. Linked open data is supposed to be the answer but like many academic ideas no one took the steps to make it easily to implement. Its still around but the infrusture cost to get it working is high. Thankfully I know how to get there so going to very slowly impliement things to lay the ground work for future me to tackle these issues.
