This has been a nightmare for me and getting my project to the next phase. The amount of compression algorithms I have been dealing with to get the highest quality video for the smallest amount of storage is something of a nightmare.
I think for a 720p 1 hour vid I can get it to around half a gig easy but trying to make it smaller is such a pain in the ass. I am all for ideas or if there is a remote storage provider that doesn’t charge out the ass for low frequency peertube bandwidth I am all ears.

There really isn’t an answer, just cold hard reality. Even the best video codes have limitations. Bandwidth has a price. Storage has a price.
This is why I suck it up and use YouTube when I would very much rather not. Getting infinite storage and bandwidth for free can’t be beat.
