Continuation from the old “What Have You Been Listening To” thread.
Obviously you should be listening to Blues in the Key of A(narchy) by Greg von Teig, but I’ve also been going back to Nirvana Unplugged, an album I forgot I loved but still do.

The holidays are of course the time to listen to TSO and only TSO for literally weeks on end.
And every time I listen to TSO, I can’t help but also listen to Savatage, the one that predates TSO.

I’m still not over the new Gambino record.
Back on to a bit of The Smith Street Band. And yes, Greg, they’re named as a reference to The Boss.
Wait, really? I saw them open for AJJ last year and they were pretty good, but I assumed the name similarity was just my fanboy mind turning everything into Springsteen references.

[/quote]Yeah, really. They were originally named “Wil Wagner and The Smith Street Band” as a direct reference to Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, and shortened it when they changed their songwriting style away from having the titular Wil do everything, over to more of an all-in collaborative process.
By funny coincidence, I also saw them live with AJJ last year, I think in September, but in reverse order on the billing. AJJ were opening up for them at their “I Love Life” festival down here, at their Brisbane Hotel gig, along with The Sugarcanes and some punk mob I don’t remember the name of. It was kinda funny, about half the crowd went absolutely apeshit for AJJ, the other half were like “Who the fuck are these dudes?”
Funny I was listening to Redbone just as I viewed the thread.
The new Injury Reserve is also on my jam.

Do Bandcamp embeds work in the new Forum?
EDIT: Nope. And I can’t find it on YouTube, so here’s a link to the awesome folk punk from Boston I found.
Man, I need to get to the Boston DIY scene, but near impossible without a Facebook.
The Middle East and The Great Scott are two venues to keep an eye on. I could let you know when good acts are coming to town, if you’d like.
For real, that would be amazing. Altough my concert watching is greatly stunted by working nights.
Hamilton, over and over.
I’ve had the theme for Yuri!! on Ice stuck in my head.
The Marmozets live at Reading 2015 is pretty dam amazing. Becca is a machine of a front woman.
Quality beats. Great to just have on while working.
For when you can’t find any onions.
