Effective Action Against the Republican Coup

If any of you live in New York, there is one simple thing you can do right now.

Write your state assembly rep, state senate rep, and the governor, supporting Senate Bill S4588.

It will deny House Republicans a crucial vote in the closely divided chamber. It will also give the Democrats a lot of leeway in how we handle special elections, which can be used to help Democrats win.

Hakeem Jeffries supports it. It’s a good and correct power grab.

A potential flash point for serious resistance has emerged.

These webinars are going to set up a test case for the Supreme Court.

Explaining to immigrants their legal rights is going to be declared a crime, and we are going to have a court ruling. If we win, good. If we lose, it’s the flash point. If they ignore the ruling… that’s war.

This is all extremely good and correct advice for how to resist this.

This is going to lead to a standoff between City/State and Federal law enforcement.

Trump is threatening the Boston Police Department over their refusal to assist ICE in deportations.

This is a big deal. This is a point of material resistance. Pay attention to this.
