Climate Change

The problems are stacking.

Photosynthesis could be a new viable energy source.

The U.S. is on the Good Path.

The charts and further detail in this article are quite informative:

We just have to do something about gas.

Yes, which will be made immensely easier / more feasible as we get better and much more grid-scale energy storage technologies developed and implemented - “batteries” but that encompasses non-chemical storage solutions too.

Natural gas consumption is going to increase as we scale down coal. It’s a temporary switch until we implement renewable energy storage. As a society we need to also accept we are going to need nuclear power for the long term and build some modern power plants.

Is there much difference between natural gas and unleaded gas/diesel? I understand they still probably pollute, but is it a somehow “safer” option (like, fewer carbon emissions or something)? I’m starting to see more pumps for this stuff at my local gas stations.

All the nerds who have been hyped on heat pumps are finally winning.

Good.

Do not put natural gas in your car! There are very few vehicles that do run on it and they are mostly owned by state/town governments. It is not the same fuel at all.

Thanks for the article! That’s really helpful.

On an unrelated note…

This also has ties to the Ukraine thread since Poland is trying to end their dependance on Russian oil.

It’s time to make Big Oil pay.

Two big bans incoming.

UPDATE: New York passed the bill.

So, it turns out that charging emissions firms boosts your economy.

Whom, in proximity to power, needs to see these graphs again for some drastic changes to occur?

How long do we have for it to sink into the minds of climate change deniers?

Honestly, I don’t think it’ll sink into climate change deniers heads until we have to start abandoning cities. Miami or some other city.

Even then Capital will just see disasters as a way to extract more capital.
