From another article on the Yellowstone flooding, I see item #73,390,410 of the dystopia we are already in:

The flooding happened while other parts of the U.S. burned in hot and dry weather. More than 100 million Americans were being warned to stay indoors as a heat wave settles over states stretching through parts of the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes and east to the Carolinas.

Wasting all that water from a place with droughts and fires. Capitalism, truly the markets are the most efficient.

A point that maybe no one thought to consider with nuclear power.

Get fucked, Manchin.

I feel not enough people are talking about Portugal. I feel not enough people are panicking about these heatwaves and wildfires.

What percentage of flights/ shipping can we cancel immediately?

Shipping doesn’t generate nearly as much CO2 as the production and sale processes on either end.

Holy shit.

When the mercury hit 40.3C (104.5F) in eastern England, the highest ever registered by a country not used to these conditions, datacenters couldn't take the heat. Selected machines were powered off to avoid long-term damage, causing some resources, services, and virtual machines to become unavailable, taking down unlucky websites and the like.

I knew solar panels needed maintenance, and might break (because everything can break), but I didn’t know they had a shelf life beyond which they could be repaired. If solar is the answer, we’re going to need a solution for this.
