Attempted to take some pictures of Jupiter with my SLR, with all the clouds it just reminds me of that one TNG episode.
It’s all cloudy in NYC, and the light pollution is per-usual.

This is a three part BBC show from right before the fall of the USSR about history of their space program. I watched it after seeing a reference in a Scott Manley video, thought it was interesting. This was before any footage of the moon rocket explosions came out, so when they cover that all you see is a mock up based on a sketch for the actual rocket!

The bottom of the SLS rocket looks like someone took R2D2 and some storm trooper greeblies to build a prop of a next-gen moon rocket for a movie.
And in a way where half the people would go “that looks so fake!”
It actually worked. Or has so far!

It’s hard to imagine what it it will be like for an astronaut privileged to crew the next launch.
With so many things to possibly go wrong, and the pressure of doing everything when it’s all going well.
Mind blowing, even with all the modern technology.
Rocket go up or rocket go boom or rocket go both?
