Labor

I was listening to the PTI podcast a few days ago. Tony Kornheiser told a story about way back in his newspaper days, when he was one of the young guys. The staff was voting on whether to unionize.

He asked one of the old guys what outcome they wanted. He said the old guy told him, “we want it to lose by 5 or 10 votes, so we have leverage. Leverage to make management give us everything we want, without having to actually unionize.”

Interesting - of course even having a vote is a signal.

Come on, if you’re going to post something with a clickbait headline, at least have the courtesy to save us a click. Even worse it’s a 10 minute video to explain something that you can read in an article in 30 seconds.

Their distribution center got infested rodents, so there’s a recall on tons of products at many of their stores which are or could be contaminated with salmonella, etc.

Fuck, that sucks but is far from what I expected. I assumed someone was finally coming after them for the far above average number of violent crimes that occur in their stores.

It’s clearly not going to happen, but it’s a nice gesture.

Got 'em!

It’s not the employees, it’s the sellers who are on strike.
