Toxic Masculinity

What’s bizarre is when people start throwing the label “Cultural Appropriation” around without thinking it through. I remember reading about a Kimono exhibit up in the Boston area being protested because people thought wearing Kimonos were a type of Cultural Appropriation.

Lord knows there’s been enough racist Halloween costumes to last a lifetime, but trying to learn and involve yourself (respectfully) in another culture isn’t appropriation. Especially when people from that culture are trying to expand awareness of it.

[/quote]Well, it certainly can be. If that case was or was not, I make no comment since I don’t know the details, but as a general comment, it certainly can be.

We had the cultural appropriation discussion on the old boards, I was going to provide a link to the relevant pages, but search is broken over there.
