The Best Game You Can Name (Ice Hockey)

It’s now Tuesday.

Only one question remains.

Did they bring it?

Hopefully they forgot it, and it’s sitting back at their arena.

I guess it was back in Ottawa. Wherever it was, it wasn’t in the garden.

They lost it at the bus station.

Man, this clip from the Pens/Caps series is nuts.

I thought we were bad losing games with one and two goal leads late in the third period. Edmonton sure showed us who’s boss.

My thoughts exactly. Just the luckiest franchise in the history of sports.

Well, the last time this happened was the Red Wings. I remember the city parade being absolutely insane.

Fuck, the Rangers actually got smart and bought out Dan Girardi.

Also, Expansion draft incoming and Entry Draft incoming. Feels good to have something to look forward to.

Thanks for all the good times G. We’ll miss you, but hopefully you can now regain your health and live a life of luxury with that big money.

In other news:

Vegas: Let’s take Jesper Fast.

Me: NOOOOOOOOO

Vegas: Ok, fine. We’ll take Raanta.

Me: NOOOOOOOOO

Vegas: Ok, we’ll take Oscar Lindberg.

Wow. I had no idea. Good for him.

Tangentially, Players Tribune has had more candid stories from athletes than anything else I can remember. Usually you get Both Teams Played Hard My Man.

Blockbuster trade today with Jonathan Drouin plus a conditional 6th round pick going to the Canadiens. The Lightning get in return highly touted russian defenseman prospect Mikhail Sergachev and a conditiona 2nd round pick. Drouin made waves two seasons ago when he initially refused to report to Tampa’s AHL affiliate Syracuse Crunch after getting sent down, and later his Agent made public that Drouin had requested a trade.

Obviously Drouin is the best player in this trade but Sergachev looks very promising and I guess old wounds don’t heal that easily. Also Tampa makes things easier on themselves for the coming expansion draft.

Edit: And Drouin just signed a six-year contract extension with the Habs.

Vegas is taking my boy Oscar. :frowning:
