Studying

Going back to your original topic, I’ve taken Coursera courses for ~fun and I’ve had my work pay for a work-related college course for a semester. It’s hard to make time for self-study, and I find that doing homework is a best way to learn something unless I have a particular goal in mind.

I’m not counting learning a programming language, as I do that more frequently, as curiosity or need demands.

So what’s the difference between studying, learning and researching? Don’t all of those take place when you are covering a subject/topic you are new to?
