New York Times tech workers are on strike. They are asking people to not play the NY Times games like World, Crossword, etc. I already played this morning before I knew about it, but now I can stop until they get a contract.
It looks like the strike is over, but no contract signed.

After how the election went, I expect no strike to result in a contract till after the administration change.
Heck yeah!
The ski patrol union has been on strike at a pretty major resort here (Park City, Utah) for the past week. Pretty stunning that Vail Resorts, the Colorado-based owner of a large and increasing number of ski areas around the world, has not been taking this very seriously, IMO. Both from the point of view of negotiating with the union and by trying to get scabs in to replace the striking workers. The latter issue is pretty scary, because you are talking about replacing trained and experienced workers who know the local terrain and history of risk to prevent avalanches and helping injured guests on the mountain. They aren’t asking for much, a couple of dollars an hour raise and better health care.
Visitors to the resort are understandably upset by the limited terrain that is open to ski and ride and the resulting long lift lines. But the blame lies squarely on the corporation.
