It's Handegg Season

Eagles started 4-6 and still made the playoffs. They also got kind of lucky because one of the reasons they made the playoffs is that a tie occurred earlier in the season between the Packers and the Vikings. I didn’t even know that ties could still happen in the NFL. However, winning with a 24-0 shutout in the final game of the season is also not a bad look (and as a bonus it was against the team whose nickname should not be used, ever).

Eagles beat the Bears on a missed field goal which hit both the upright and the crossbar before staying out. Crazy. Apparently though it was tipped by an Eagles defender.

Aaron Rodgers had two interceptions in 2018.

Both went off Jimmy Graham’s hands directly to a defender.

Drew Brees looking OK without Grahm.

I still think signing him was a worthwhile gamble, but it really didn’t pay off.

It was an outlier season, even by Rodgers’ standards. Since the merger, nobody else has less than 4 picks when they started all 16 games. And Graham was responsible for 100% of them!

There was a lot of drama today regarding whether Landon Collins did or did not clean out his locker.

In the end, he gone.

You know handegg is in a bad place when I’m laughing at fans of my own team being upset.

Only for the Gmen.

Given the information available the Giants made a hilariously awful decision drafting the guy that sucked against strong college defenses. There was nothing about Jones that stuck out as notable and there are much better quarterback classes coming in 2020 and 2021.

The long snapper for the NYG is doing an AMA, and is also a Twitch streamer, and is streaming the AMA.

What a world.

Andrew Luck retired. Pretty crazy to have a top N quarterback hang it up two weeks before the season.

Yeah, but the response only proves his decision was correct. If those fans in Indy are such ungrateful scumbags that they boo him after he gave his body for their team, they don’t deserve him.

I will never fault anyone for retiring once they’ve made it.

I would retire instantly if I “made it.”

Ya know what, retirement (after you “made it”) within a capitalist economy is quite a bit like regular old life in a different sort of economy.

All the basics are handled and if ya want anything big and fancy maybe you have to have a bit of hustle.

You can tell capitalism is broken because the goal of a person in a capitalist system is to get so much money they can escape capitalism.

I’d say right call even if they were cool. Football is like planting trees, the best time to retire is 20 years ago, second best is today.

Chris Borland, a linebacker on the niners, retired at 24 a few years ago. He cited head trauma worries.

On top of that, who wants to work for any NFL owner that’s not the Packers?

Season opens in a week.

It has been 620 days since Aaron Rodgers threw an interception that didn’t hit Jimmy Graham in the hands and go directly to a defender.
