5th season question

I’m reading The 5th Season and I am confused by how at the very start of the story Yumenes and points south, except Tirimo, were, apparently, destroyed by a powerful orogene. But Essun saved Tirimo.

But now she is at the Fulcrum, which is in Yumenes.

But I thought Yumenes was destroyed?
